These are a battery of tests where data is gathered, scored, and analyzed to evaluate a person’s behaviors, abilities, and other personality traits, particularly for the purposes of making a diagnosis or treatment recommendation. We assess both psychiatric (e.g., anxiety, depression, substance abuse) and non-psychiatric concerns (e.g., intelligence, career interests) in an outpatient setting.

Certain tests given measure someone's adaptability and how they will respond in various environments (i.e. work, school, home, etc.). This is helpful for employers and educators in understanding how to interact with and teach employees and students. The results of an evaluation can also be used to determine capability and fitness for work/duty, pre-surgical psychological clearance, and academic and career planning.

A summary or report is compiled to help our patients, their other healthcare providers, and/or family members to help formulate a plan of treatment utilizing the test results and recommendations.

Assessment data is gathered through:

  • A clinical interview

  • Observation by our trained psychometrists

  • Standardized tests and self-report measures

  • Psycho-physiological measurement devices

  • Information provided by other healthcare professionals, teachers, or family members

  • Other specialized procedures and apparatuses (i.e. iPads or computers)
